TO KICK THINGS OFF: The Chargers open the second year under the direction of head coach Matt Watts on the road for four straight including a pair of regional contests this weekend in Columbus, Georgia, against Lincoln Memorial and Eckerd. UAH was picked to finish third in the GSC and featured a league-high four players on the preseason all-conference team, and Watts returns 10 starters from last year's team that recorded 10 wins in a dramatic turnaround season from 2012 in which the team had just one victory.

CAPTAIN INGRAM: The team selected its captain for the new campaign, and the leadership role belongs to steady defender Andrew Ingram who was also selected by the conference's head coaches to the Preseason All-GSC Team. The senior has played in each of the team's 50 games in his first three seasons of the Blue and White, and a season ago he ranked second on the squad in minutes while helping the Chargers rank second in the conference in fewest goals allowed.

SIMMONS IN THE RECORD BOOKS: Senior Kyle Simmons has established himself as one of the best goal scorers in UAH's 41 years of soccer, ranking seventh all-time with 33 goals. This season he will be attempting to become the first player at UAH to lead the team in goals for four straight seasons as he currently is joined by Greg Feigl as the only players to pace the squad in three straight years. Feigl accomplished the feat from 1979-81.

ABOUT LINCOLN MEMORIAL: The Railsplitters enter the new campaign after going 9-8-2 a season ago. Though LMU returns 10 of last year's 12 players that recorded a point, the team will be looking to fill the hole left by the departure of Mario Pinto who scored 15 times last season. In goal for Friday's opponent will be senior Marcel Barwanietz who ranks third all-time at LMU with 21 wins.

UAH ALL-TIME AGAINST LMU: UAH owns the upper hand in the all-time series with a 12-8 record against the Railsplitters. However, LMU had owned the series with six straight wins prior to last year when UAH rallied from a late two-goal deficit to win 3-2 in overtime in the first-ever night game on campus.

ABOUT ECKERD: The Tritons start the 2014 season looking to build off of a season that saw the team go 4-11-2 a year ago. The squad features a new head coach in Cristian Neagu and was picked to finish last in the Sunshine State Conference Preseason Poll.

UAH ALL-TIME AGAINST EC: The Chargers are a perfect 4-0 against the Tritons with the last meeting coming in 2004.
