HIGHLIGHTSHUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville fell to rival North Alabama by a score of 80-70 in a Saturday afternoon Gulf South Conference matchup at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall. UAH slips to 8-9 (5-6 GSC), while UNA improves to 9-6 (6-5 GSC).
The Chargers controlled the pace at the outset of the contest, as UAH held a 16-13 advantage at the midway point of the first half. However, North Alabama put together a 16-3 run to overtake UAH and ended the frame with a 39-32 lead.

Loren Foster and junior
Josi Saunders paced the Chargers offense with 10 points apiece in the first half. Foster played a team-high 19 minutes in the first half, while Saunders keyed the defense with four blocks and two steals through 20 minutes of play.
Following the break, the Lions continued to push the pace and compiled a 19-point lead over UAH at 59-40 through the first 10 minutes of the second half. UNA led by as much as 21 in the contest, but the Chargers made an 11-5 run to close out the game to bring the game to an 80-70 final.
Overall,
Dina Saunders excelled on offense for UAH with a team-high 17 points and four assists, while
Halle Jarnagin led UAH on the boards with six rebounds. The Chargers shot 39.7 percent for the game from the floor and 42.1 percent on 3-pointers.
Foster finished the contest with a career-high 16 points thanks to 4-for-6 shooting from long range. The Sparta, Tennessee native added four rebounds and a steal in her 30 minutes on the floor.
UAH heads out on the road for a pair of GSC games this coming week, as the Blue and White travels to Valdosta State on Thursday and West Florida on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. at VSU and 2 p.m. at UWF.
