CARROLLTON, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision in the road finale for the team, falling to host West Georgia on Friday night. UAH slips to 6-8-2 (3-7-1 GSC) with the setback, while UWG improves to 8-6-1 (6-3-1 GSC).

 It was UAH who scored first in the contest as
Sydnie Fiocca recorded her fifth goal of the season in the 10th minute of the contest, and her goal was assisted by
Sydney Pfankuch who padded her team lead in points at 21 with her fifth helper of the season.

West Georgia, however, would respond with three goals before the halftime break, scoring in the 26th, 31st, and 40th minutes to build a two-goal advantage that could not be overcome.

For the contest, West Georgia held a 30-15 advantage in shots including a 14-7 edge in shots on goal as
Larae Breaux recorded 11 saves to reach double figures in stops for the fifth time this season.

Pfankuch fired off a team-best three shots for the Chargers, and her showing of two shots on goal was matched by
Isabel Shanteau.

Corners in the contest were even as both teams earned six.

UAH will now return home to close out the season on Sunday as Valdosta State visits for a 1 p.m. kick-off. UAH's five seniors will be honored prior to the match.
