ST. LEO, Fla. | Four Chargers scored in double figures led by
Seab Webster's double-double, and the 12th-ranked University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team cruised to an 82-61 over Tampa at the GSC/SSC Challenge on the Saint Leo campus. UAH starts the year out at 1-0, while UT begins at 0-1.

Webster paced the Chargers in both scoring and rebounding in the season-opening victory, registering 15 points and 11 rebounds as the junior from Gurley posted his third career double-double.

Joining him in double figures on the night,
Brandon Roberts poured in 14 in his debut in the Blue and White after transferring from Samford, while
Kip Owens came off the bench and went 5-for-6 from the field en route to scoring 12.

Troy Saxton added 10.

Neither team was able to generate much offensively in the contest's opening minutes as the affair was tied at just 4-4 at the 15:57 mark of the first half, but UAH would outscore the Spartans 30-12 to hold a 34-14 lead with just over four minutes left en route to owning a 39-27 advantage at the break.

The Chargers then pushed out to as much as a 31-point lead as Webster had nine of his 15 – including two shots from beyond the arc – in the second half to help UAH cruise to an important region victory.

On the night, the Chargers outshot Tampa by a 47.6 to 33.3 percent clip, and UAH also won the battle on the glass by a 45-37 margin. Inside play was also dominated by the Chargers who doubled up Tampa in the paint, scoring 44 to UT's 22.

UAH was additionally a strong 15-for-18 at the charity stripe in the victory.
Zach Hollis had 11 to lead the Spartans as the Chargers held all other Tampa players below double figures.

The Chargers will look to sweep the season's first weekend when they return to action on Saturday, taking on host Saint Leo at 3 p.m. CST.
