PENSACOLA, Fla. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team lost to No. 22 West Florida on Saturday afternoon in a Gulf South Conference matchup by a score of 3-0 (19-25, 19-25, 15-25) to round out the 2015 regular season slate. UAH falls to 19-14 (10-10 GSC), while West Florida improves 27-5 (19-1 GSC).

Olivia Bauman led the attack for the Chargers with 10 kills to go along with four block assists on the night, while freshman
Haley Hop paced the defense with 15 digs. Sophomore
Kirsten Giles added 20 assists and 12 scoops for her fifth straight double-double.

The Chargers jumped out to a 6-3 advantage over the Argonauts in the opening frame and kept the set tied as late as 14-14 before a 3-0 rally by UWF turned the tables to give the hosts a 17-14 lead. UAH held UWF to a three-point lead until the Argos totaled four of the final five points for the 25-19 win in the first.

UAH and UWF played close at the outset of the second set, but a 5-0 run followed by a 3-0 rally helped the Argonauts to a 19-11 advantage. The Chargers battled back at the end with a 4-0 run to make it 24-19 UWF.

However, a kill by Kathryn Torre ended the second stanza to give West Florida a 2-0 match advantage, which was followed by a 25-15 victory in the third by the Argonauts for the 3-0 conference victory.

The Chargers look ahead to a Super Tuesday matchup to begin the 2015 Gulf South Conference Championships against fourth-seeded Shorter in Rome, Georgia on Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. CST.
