Freshman
Baylee Johnson was the lone player for the hosts to score in double figures as she hit three 3-pointers en route to scoring 14 points. Leading UAH on the glass were
Dina Saunders and
Caroline Dodd who both grabbed six, and
Josi Saunders added a pair of blocks.

Shorter led throughout the contest, holding a 21-12 advantage after the first quarter, and though UAH would outscore the visitors in the second frame, the Hawks maintained a 34-28 lead going into the locker room at the break.
Â
UAH would be unable to narrow the gap any closer than six in the third and fourth quarters as Shorter held a double-digit lead that was at one point as big as 16 points down the stretch.
Â
Taylor Adams led the Hawks as she scored 15, while Shaundricka Mann scored 12 and had a game-high eight rebounds.
Â
UAH's defensive effort was strong in the contest as it limited Shorter to a shooting performance of just 34.6 percent, but the Chargers also struggled from the field, connecting on 34.0 percent of their attempts while going only 4-for-17 from beyond the arc.
Â
On the glass, it was UAH who held the advantage, grabbing 39 rebounds to Shorter's 35.
Â
Shorter forced the Chargers into 22 turnovers and converted them into 21 points, and the Hawks edged out UAH in second-chance points by a 7-4 margin.
Â
UAH will look to bounce back from the setback on Saturday when the team welcomes Lee to the Rocket City. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. on the UAH campus.
