HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team lost to Lee on Saturday afternoon at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall by a final score of 79-52 to wrap up the 2015 calendar year's slate. UAH dips to 6-4 (3-3 GSC), while LU improves to 8-3 (5-1 GSC).

The Chargers were led by senior Halle Jarnagin with a team- best 12 points and six rebounds in the contest, while freshman Baylee Johnson contributed 11 points, three assists and a season-high 37 minutes on the court.

Lee stormed out of the gate on Saturday afternoon, as the squad jumped out to a 20-10 advantage in the first quarter before extending its lead to 45-23 heading into the second half.

The Flames benefitted from 46 percent shooting (6-for-13) from beyond the arc and an even 50 percent (18-for-36) from the floor, while the Blue and White had a 29 percent (8-for-27) success rate from the floor in the opening half.

The Chargers rebounded in the second half to shoot 40 percent (11-for-27) from the field, but Lee maintained its advantage over UAH en route to a 79-52 victory. Lee's offense was paced by a 24-point performance by Erin Walsh.

UAH's bench had a good deal of success during the contest, outscoring the opposition's second unit 33-19. Jarnagin's 12 points paced all non-starters, with fellow senior Dina Saunders chipping in 10 points to go along with five rebounds.

Following the holiday break, UAH will hit the road to the Magnolia State to take on Mississippi College on Jan. 2 and Delta State on Jan. 4. The Chargers are 1-1 on the road so far in 2015-16.
