CLINTON, Miss. | Stopping a four-game slide at an important juncture of the season, the University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team picked up a road win at Mississippi College on Saturday, winning 63-46. The Chargers improve to 11-14 (8-11 GSC), while MC falls to 8-15 (4-15 GSC).

The win keeps UAH a game ahead of Shorter and West Alabama in the conference standings among teams eligible for the postseason, and the Chargers also remain tied for sixth with Valdosta State.

The top eight teams earn a berth to the GSC tournament.

Halle Jarnagin led the way for the Chargers, scoring 18 points including a perfect 7-for-7 showing at the charity stripe, and she was joined in double figures by
Dina Saunders who hit three 3-pointers on her way to scoring 13.

The Chargers were terrific defensively in the contest, limiting the Choctaws to a shooting mark of 34.0 percent while only giving up one successful shot from beyond the arc.

Never trailing in the game, UAH built up as much as an 18-point lead in the first half en route to owning a 34-20 advantage at the halftime break, and the lead never dropped to single digits in the second half as the Chargers cruised to the victory, leading by as many as 19 points in the second stanza..

UAH shot 40.9 percent for the game and also hit seven treys, and once again the team was effective in sharing the ball as the squad recorded 14 assists on 18 made field goals.
Josi Saunders matched Jarnagin as both had four helpers.

The Chargers also won the rebounding battle, grabbing 29 to Mississippi College's 22 as
Josi Saunders, Jarnagin, and
Shannon Steinert each grabbed six boards.

There remain now just three games in the regular season, and two of those contests are at home for UAH starting with a Thursday visit from Christian Brothers. Tip-off at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall is slated for 5:30 p.m.
