PHOTO GALLERYHUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville lost by a score of 67-54 on Thursday evening at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall to Gulf South Conference opponent Lee. The Chargers slip to 10-12 (7-9 GSC), while the Flames improve to 13-6 (10-6 GSC).

Dina Saunders paced the Chargers offense with 14 points on the night including a 2-for-4 performance on 3-pointers. Saunders also added a team-high three steals and 34 minutes played on Thursday.
The first half was tightly contested between the conference foes, as the game was tied with five minutes to go in the period. UAH benefitted from a
Josi Saunders' 3-pointer to take a one-point advantage after the tie, but Lee would close the gap and lead 27-26 heading into halftime following two consecutive baskets.
Saunders totaled 12 of her 14 points on the night in the first half, while also making two of her three steals. Redshirt senior
Shannon Steinert had a team-best two assists in the initial 20 minutes.
Lee stormed out of the break and managed a 12-point lead seven minutes into the second half. UAH reduced Lee's lead to six with less than five minutes to play. However, Lee was able to hold control of the game, leading by as much as 11 and closing out the game on a 6-0 run to bring the game to its 67-54.
The Chargers shot 36.2 percent from the floor and 21.1 percent from long range on Thursday night.
Alysse Bishop led in shooting percentage going 3-for-4 from the floor while adding three assists, three rebounds and one steal in 31 minutes of work.
UAH looks ahead to the second home game of the week as Shorter visits the Rocket City. Tip-off slated for 2 p.m. at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall.
