FOLLOW LIVE STATSMIDWEEK AT HOME (FINALLY): The eighth-ranked UAH softball team will welcome Tuskegee to Charger Park for a doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m., carrying a 16-5 record into the tilt. The Chargers have had two previous midweek dates rained out and will be playing a midweek contest for the first time since Feb. 12.
Â
SCHEDULE UPDATE: One of the previously postponed midweek doubleheaders has been rescheduled as the Chargers will travel to Stillman for a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Tuesday, March 31, in Tuscaloosa.
Â
MOVING ON UP: Two current UAH players rank among the best all-time in program history in a pair of career statistical categories as
Kaitlyn Bannister checks in at second in sacrifice flies with 10 (the school record is 14 set by Stephanie Pinto from 2004-07), while
Brianna Sullivan is third all-time with 90 steals (Kelli Long is in second with 107, and Stephanie Berry holds the program record with 132 that she amassed from 1998-2001).
Â
NOT STRIKING OUT: The Chargers currently rank second in the Gulf South Conference in fewest strikeouts, totaling only 80 on the season.
Victoria Frith leads the way for UAH with only three Ks in 61 at-bats while
Haley Thompson and Sullivan have both only struck out four times.
Â
ABOUT TUSKEGEE: The Golden Tigers are 4-7 on the year and have gone 1-5 in road games. Four of the team's losses have come to GSC teams as both West Alabama and West Georgia swept TU in Livingston and Carrollton, respectively, earlier this season.
Â
SERIES HISTORY: UAH is 3-1 all-time against Tuskegee, and the one loss came last year in the opening game of the NCAA Division II South 1 Regional when the Golden Tigers upset the top-seede Chargers 7-5. UAH, however, earned a chance for revenge and defeated Tuskegee 12-3 in five innings on its way to the South 1 Region title.
