MOBILE, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville tennis teams cruised to victory on Tuesday as both the men's and women's teams won by 9-0 scores over host Spring Hill. The ladies improved to 6-5 with the victory, while the gentlemen moved to 3-5 with their win.

The women's victory was especially decisive as the Chargers surrendered just five sets in the entire contest.

Marleen Gort and
Aniek Remmerswaal won 8-0 at the No. 1 doubles, while the No. 2 pairing of
Katie Bryant and
Cristina Cabanas also were 8-0 victors. In the No. 3 doubles match,
Marta Briega teamed up with
Naomi Esteve for an 8-1 decision.

UAH's domination continued into singles action as Gort, Briega, and Remmerswaal were all 6-0, 6-0 winners at the Nos. 1, 3, and 6 positions, respectively, while Cabanas won the No. 2 match 6-0, 6-1 and Bryant was a 6-1, 6-0 winner from the sixth position. In No. 4 singles, Esteve won 6-1, 6-1.

On the men's side, the Chargers jumped out to a 3-0 lead after all three doubles duos were winners with the No. 2 pairing of
Nestor Perez and
Harrison Stone having the largest margin of victory at 8-2. In the top doubles match,
Jose Soto and
Elliot Hopson teamed up for an 8-5 win, while
Ian Wisener and
Rodrigo Palomino won 8-3 in No. 3 doubles.

Stone also cruised in his singles match, winning at the No. 6 by a 6-0, 6-0 score, while Hopson took his match from the fifth position by set margins of 6-2, 6-0. In the No. 1 singles match, Soto was a 6-3, 6-3 winner, while
David Cooper won at the third position 6-3, 6-2 and
Pablo Herrero captured the point at No. 4 with a 6-3, 6-2 win.

Perez was winning 5-0 at the second position before his opponent retired.

After taking Wednesday off, the Chargers will return to action on Thursday at West Florida.
