FOLLOW LIVE STATS | WATCH THE GAME (SUNDAY ONLY)
NATIONAL SHOWDOWN: The seventh-ranked Chargers will travel to Florence this weekend to take on No. 15 North Alabama in a pivotal series between two of the top three teams in the Gulf South Conference. There Chargers are riding an 11-game winning streak en route to holding a 23-5 (14-2 GSC) record going into Saturday's 2 p.m. doubleheader. Sunday's single game is also slated for a 2 p.m. start.

GSC UPDATE: The conference has three ranked teams, and – not surprisingly – No. 1 Valdosta State, No. 7 UAH, and No. 15 UNA are the top three teams in the league standings, respectively. VSU currently holds a one-game advantage over the Chargers in the loss column with a 16-1 record, while UNA is two games back of UAH in the loss column at 10-4.

LIFE ON THE ROAD: The Chargers are 6-1 in road games this season with several players enjoying some strong road success. After her terrific 6-for-7 day in Montevallo on Wednesday, Victoria Crumpton features a team-best .632 road batting average, while Kaitlyn Bannister has 11 RBI and is slugging .731 away from Huntsville. In the circle, Kimberly Jack is 4-0 and owns an 0.30 ERA in road action.

BANNISTER AGAINST THE GSC: A key contributor to UAH's success in conference play this season has been Bannister. In GSC games, the sophomore is batting .413 and driven in 24 runs while recording six doubles and five homers. Additionally, she has struck out just once in league play.

ABOUT NORTH ALABAMA: Winners of nine of their last 10, the Lions are currently 25-5 (10-4 GSC), and the team is a perfect 11-0 in home games. The team has the best ERA in the conference as the pitching staff has combined for a 1.07 ERA, and opponents are hitting just .169 against UNA.

LEADING THE WAY: Hillary Carpenter stars for North Alabama in the circle, posting a 13-2 record and an 0.61 ERA while tossing 12 complete games and striking out 72. Offensively, Ashley Bonner paces the squad with a .447 batting average, and both Brittany Gillison and Libbly Olinger have recorded a team-high 31 RBI.

SERIES HISTORY: The Chargers hold a 62-16 advantage all-time against the Lions, and the two programs met five times last year with UAH winning four of the contests including two in the postseason with a victory in both the GSC tournament and the NCAA South 1 Regional.
