NATIONAL SHOWDOWN (AGAIN): For the second straight weekend, the UAH softball team will take part in a series between a pair of nationally-ranked opponents as No. 1 Valdosta State visits the 13th-ranked Chargers for a three-game set Friday and Saturday. The doubleheader on Friday will start at noon, while Saturday's single game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start. UAH brings a 25-8 (14-5 GSC) record into the weekend.

HOME SWEET HOME: As a team, the Chargers are hitting .355 at Charger Park to bat more than 25 points higher than the season overall mark of .329. Additionally, two players are raking in home contests as
Brianna Sullivan is hitting an impressive .581 at home while
Michal Robertson is also hitting above .500 at Charger Park with an average of .522. Six of Robertson's seven homers have also come in home games.
SWIPING BAGS: The Chargers continue to be one of the top teams in the country in stealing bases as the squad is taking 2.48 bags per game via the stolen base. Sullivan is one of the top in the nation on the base paths, stealing 0.71 bases per contest.
ABOUT VALDOSTA STATE: The Blazers are the nation's No. 1 team, holding a record of 36-2 (19-1 GSC), and the squad comes to Huntsville riding a 26-game winning streak. The team ranks second to UAH in the GSC in batting average, hitting .323, but the Blazers also feature gaudy power numbers with 60 homers for a slugging percentage of .583.

LEADING THE WAY: In the wake of an injury to All-American Courtney Albritton, VSU has been boosted by the strong play of Jaime Phillips who is hitting .438 with a team-best 13 homers and 12 doubles, and Brandy Morgan has driven in a team-best 40 runs. Reigning NFCA Pitcher of the Week Caitlyn Calhoun leads the pitching staff, boasting an 0.80 ERA, 176 strikeouts, and an opposition batting average of .133.

SERIES HISTORY: Friday's first game will mark the 100th time that the two teams have played, and UAH holds the lead in the all-time series by a 58-41 mark. A season ago, the Chargers swept the three-game set in Valdosta, but VSU took four of the team's five meetings in the postseason including a Super Regional win at Charger Park.
