RIVALRY RENEWED: The Chargers will take the short trip to Florence on Saturday to take on North Alabama with the tip at Flowers Hall on the UNA campus set for 3 p.m. UAH enters the game with an 11-4 mark and an 8-2 record in Gulf South Conference play.
 
RECAPPING LAST WEEK: UAH went 2-0 a week ago after completing a thrilling comeback with a 105-101 double overtime victory against Union on Saturday before turning around to hold off Christian Brothers by an 82-73 score on Monday evening. In the Union contest, UAH had seven different players score in double figures, and that trend continued into Monday when five players reached double figures.
 
AROUND THE GSC: With 10 games in the books, the Chargers are again alone in first place in the GSC standings, a game ahead of Delta State and West Georgia who are both tied at 7-3. Tied for fourth are Valdosta State and Saturday's opponent UNA who both hold 6-4 records, while Union and CBU are both tied for sixth at 6-5. UWA's 5-5 mark is good for eighth.
 
SHARP-SHOOTING: Averaging 10.0 makes per game, UAH is the best 3-point shooting team in the GSC both in 3-pointers per game and in percentage as the Chargers connect from downtown at a 39.9 percent clip. Tanner Finley's 53.2 3-point field goal percentage is the league's individual top mark.
 
MILESTONE METER: Greg Gardner enters Saturday's game now just needing three more assists to reach 500 for his career. Among active players, the senior ranks fourth in Division II and 19th across all NCAA divisions in total assists, and he is first among current Division II player with his career assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.39.
 
ABOUT NORTH ALABAMA: The Lions are 9-7 overall and 6-4 in conference play, and the team features a strong 7-1 record in Florence. Dimario Jackson and John Fletcher are neck-and-neck at the top of the UNA offensive ledger, leading four double-figure scorers with 15.6 and 15.4 points per game, respectively.
 
SERIES HISTORY: The Chargers are 27-35 against North Alabama all-time, and it was UAH who took two of three meetings last year. In Florence, the Chargers fell 83-67 in the regular season finale, but the team bounced back just three days in the opening round of the GSC tournament with a 97-79 victory.
