CLEVELAND, Miss. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team dropped a heartbreaker on Monday night, falling 82-74 in overtime at host Delta State. The Chargers drop to 9-4 (6-2 Gulf South Conference), while DSU improves to 11-3 (6-2 GSC).

Four players scored in double figures for the Chargers in the setback with
Seab Webster's 18 points leading the way.
Troy Saxton scored the first six points of the game and finished with 13, while both
Michael Gilmore and
Brandon Roberts chipped in with 12.

Webster nearly had a double-double as he also collected a game-high nine rebounds.

Devin Schmidt had 36 to lead the Statesmen.

After trailing by as many as nine points in the second half, the Chargers would go on an 18-3 run over the span of 4:31 to take a 66-60 lead with 3:28 left in the game, but Delta State answered with eight straight to go in front 68-66 at the 1:27 mark.

Roberts then made up a layout fall with just over a minute left that ultimately forced overtime at the 68-68 deadlock.

In overtime, a Roberts triple at the 3:22 mark produced a 72-68 lead for the Chargers, but DSU closed the game on a 14-2 run to secure the victory.

Delta State held as much as a six-point advantage in the second half, but an 8-0 UAH run that included a pair of triples from Webster allowed the visitors to go into the locker room up 36-29 at the half.

For the contest, UAH shot 40.3 percent from the floor while DSU connected on 43.1 percent of its attempts. The hosts also held the advantage on the glass as DSU grabbed 48 rebounds to UAH's 37.

Conference play continues for the Chargers on Saturday when the team welcomes Union to Kelly Court at Spragins Hall in Huntsville, and the contest is slated for a 4 p.m. start.
