CARROLLTON, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team topped West Georgia in a Gulf South Conference matchup on Tuesday evening by a final of 3-1 (17-25, 25-17, 25-18, 25-12) to open the week's schedule. UAH improves to 13-5 (7-4 GSC), while UWG slides to 4-13 (1-10).

Caroline Sanford led all UAH attackers with both 11 kills and a .381 hitting percentage in the contest, while also contributing two digs defensively.

- West Georgia notched a pair of 5-0 runs over UAH in the opening set to notch a 25-17 win in the first.
- However, UAH bounced back to tie the match at 1-1 in the second with a 25-17 victory, thanks to a key 4-0 rally late in the stanza to take a 21-15 lead.
- After West Georgia slimmed the UAH lead to 14-12 in the third set, the Chargers proceeded to score 11 of the last 17 tallies en route to the 25-18 victory in the frame.
- The Chargers started hot in the fourth and final frame of the evening as the squad jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the set, and would later register a 4-0 run and a 6-0 rally in the 25-12 match-clinching win.
