Chargers Fall to Bucs in Five Sets on Saturday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team fell at Christian Brothers by a final score of 3-2 (23-25, 25-12, 27-25, 22-25, 7-15) on Saturday afternoon in a Gulf South Conference matchup. UAH slips to 14-12 (7-9 GSC), while CBU improves to 14-12 (9-7 GSC).
 
Turning Point
- After UAH took a 2-1 lead on a 27-25 win in the third set, Christian Brothers proceeded to tie the match with a 25-22 edge in the fourth and eventually win the contest 3-2 with a 15-7 win in the fifth frame.
 
Inside the Box Score
- Freshman Caroline Sanford led the UAH attack with 15 kills on a .440 hitting percentage, while also leading the team defensively with six total blocks.
- Both Anna Claire Johnson (12 kills) and Lorah Yonce (10 kills) joined Sanford with double-digit kills.
- Kirsten Giles had a strong overall game with 45 assists, 12 digs and seven kills on a .467 hitting percentage.
- Haley Hop anchored the UAH defense with a game-high 18 digs.

- Sanford's 15 kills were a season-best, and she's now registered 10 or more kills and a hitting percentage above .330 on three occasions.
