TUSKEGEE, Ala. | A strong comeback effort came up just short on Saturday evening as The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team fell 71-65 to host Tuskegee. UAH slips to 0-2, while TU improves to 1-1.

Turning Point
-The Chargers went on a 14-2 run over a nearly six-minute span in the fourth quarter to erase what had been as much as a 16-point deficit in the third to tie the game at 59-59 at the 2:17 mark, but the hosts outscored UAH 12-5 down the stretch to secure the win.

Inside the Box Score
-Three players scored in double figures on the night led by
Loren Foster who was 4-for-6 from beyond the arc en route to scoring 16. Freshman
Aryn Sanders added 13, and
Baylee Johnson chipped in with 10 to round out the double-digit scorers.
-Freshman
Katie Speegle turned in a strong overall showing, scoring seven while collecting a team-best eight rebounds, and she also added a pair of assists and a block.
-Sanders led UAH with three assists on the evening.
-The Chargers shot 42.3 percent overall including a 9-for-22 performance from beyond the arc, while UAH's defensive effort held Tuskegee to a shooting mark of just 34.4 percent.
-The Golden Tigers, however, earned 25 trips to the free throw line and made 21 of them, while the Chargers were 14-for-17 from the stripe.
-UAH's reserves were strong in the contest, outscoring the Tuskegee bench by a 35-11 clip.

Inside the Flow
-After leading 22-17 at the end of the first quarter, Tuskegee then held the Chargers to just eight points in the second quarter to go up 35-25 at the half as Taylor Miller made a 3-pointer fall late to produce that score.
-The hosts maintained their double-digit lead throughout the third quarter, leading by the aforementioned 16 points at 47-31 at the 4:37 mark of the period.
-With the team trailing 57-45 with 8:00 left in the contest, Sanders sparked the UAH comeback effort as she nailed a triple that was followed up by a Foster trey with 6:38 left to pull UAH within six at 57-51.
-Another Foster 3-pointer and a layup from Speegle pulled UAH within one, and after the hosts answered with a basket at their end, Foster hit a third from long-range to tie the contest at 59-59 before Tuskegee was able to pull away once more for the victory.
