EVANSVILLE, Ind. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team fell on the road on Tuesday night, dropping an 83-37 decision to host Southern Indiana. UAH slips to 0-3, while USI improves to 4-0.

-Thanks to a strong shooting mark of 48.1 percent in the first two quarters, the Chargers were within single digits at the half with the score 39-30 in favor of the hosts, but Southern Indiana outscored UAH 26-4 in the third to pull away.

Baylee Johnson who scored nine.

Aryn Sanders paced the Chargers on the glass as she grabbed eight rebounds.
-Southern Indiana's Kaydie Grooms led all scorers in the contest as she tallied 17 points.
-UAH finished the game shooting 34.8 percent, while Southern Indiana shot 49.3 percent. USI also won the rebounding battle by a 41-25 margin.

-Southern Indiana would score the first five points of the ballgame, but the Chargers would battle back and a
Chandler Elder bucket at the 6:00 mark of the opening quarter knotted the contest at 9-9.
-The hosts then outscored UAH 10-6 the rest of the period to hold a 19-15 lead going into the second.
-USI then pulled ahead by 11 thanks to a 7-0 run that made it 26-15 with 7:02 left in the second stanza, but UAH then turned in its best stretch of the night, scoring 10 of the next 12 points to pull within two after a
Caroline Dodd basket made it 28-26 with 3:52 on the clock.
-An 11-4 run, however, followed for Southern Indiana to build up the 39-30 lead at the half before the dominant third and fourth quarters for the Screaming Eagles.

-Freshmen have now led the Chargers in rebounding in the past two games as
Katie Speegle also collected eight boards in UAH's last contest.
-Johnson records a team-best in points for the first time this season after doing so five times during her debut season in Huntsville last year.
