Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

No. 5 UAH Throttles No. 2 Lincoln Memorial 91-67

POSTGAME REACTION
EVANSVILLE, Ind. | The fifth-ranked University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team earned a signature win on Saturday afternoon, blowing past No. 2 Lincoln Memorial 91-67 on the final day of the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic. The Chargers improve to 3-1 on the season, while LMU slips to 3-1.

Turning Point
-UAH put together two significant runs – one of 11-0 and another of 10-0 – in the opening 20 minutes to run out to a 53-34 lead at the halftime break to establish firm control in the rout. Inside the Box Score
-Redshirt freshman Malik Cook-Stroupe led the Chargers in the triumph, going 7-for-8 from the field and 4-for-4 from the charity stripe en route to pouring in 19. For good measure, he added three rebounds and an assist.
-Cook-Stroupe was a perfect 5-for-5 from the floor in the first half, scoring 13 of his points in the period while logging just 10 minutes.
-Joining Cook-Stroupe in double figures were Brandon Roberts who scored 17 on the strength of a 7-for-12 shooting day and Seab Webster who added 13.
-Webster recorded a second straight double-double, leading the Chargers with 10 boards in the contest.
-Eleven different UAH players scored in the contest including Kip Owens who had eight while also being strong on the glass with eight rebounds.
-For the contest, UAH shot a strong 55.0 percent including an 9-for-20 (45.0 percent) showing from 3-point land, and a strong defensive effort limited LMU to shoot 40.0 percent overall and 22.2 percent from beyond the arc.
-The Chargers won the battle on the glass, grabbing 47 rebounds to LMU's 31.
-Cornelius Taylor led the Railsplitters with 14 points.

Inside the Flow
-Using the 11-0 and 10-0 runs, the Chargers jumped out to as many as a 21-point lead in the first half.
-After the Railsplitters scored four of the first six points of the second half, UAH put the game solidly out of reach by going on a 22-8 run over a nine-minute span to go ahead by 31 at 77-46 with a Roberts triple punctuating the spurt at the 8:38 mark.
-The lead would not go below 21 the rest of the way as UAH wrapped up the strong victory.

Noteworthy
-Cook-Stroupe is the first freshman to pace the team in scoring this season, and it is the first time that has happened since Tanner Finley led UAH in a contest against West Georgia on Dec. 12, 2015.
-Webster has led UAH on the glass in each of the team's four games this season, and he now owns three double-doubles on the year.
-UAH entered the game with a rebounding margin of -7.1 per game, making Saturday's 16-rebound margin that much more impressive.
-The 53 points in the half is the most for the Chargers since scoring 60 in the opening half against North Alabama on the last day of the regular season last year.

Next Time Out
-The Chargers will be off during Thanksgiving week and will return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 29, when the team hosts its home opener with a visit from Trevecca Nazarene. Tip-off at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall is slated for 7:30 p.m.
