NASHVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team picked up its first win of the season in impressive fashion on Monday afternoon, shooting 14-for-22 on 3-point attempts on its way to a 71-55 victory at Trevecca Nazarene. The Chargers improve to 1-5 on the season, while TNU slips to 3-5.

Turning Point
-An 18-5 run over just more than five minutes in the third quarter lifted the Chargers to a 21-point margin with 2:47 left in the period, effectively putting the game out of the reach to give UAH the ever-important win heading into the remainder of the season that features now all Gulf South Conference games.

Inside the Box Score
-Four Chargers scored in double figures in the win led by
Loren Foster who hit five 3-pointers to score 18, while
Morgan Tipton came off the bench and was 5-for-5 from the floor in scoring 13.

Aryn Sanders and
Baylee Johnson both added 11. Additionally, Sanders grabbed five boards and dished out four assists, while Johnson also had four assists to go along with three rebounds.
-The Chargers shot a blistering 63.2 percent from the game, connecting on 24 of their 38 attempts as the team made 10 field goals in addition to the 14 3-pointers.
-Defensively, UAH held the hosts to a shooting mark of 40.4 percent, and the Trojans were just 3-for-15 from beyond the arc.
-UAH won the battle on the glass, nearly doubling up TNU by collecting 31 rebounds to 18 for the Trojans.
-The Chargers dished out a total of 14 assists in the victory.

Inside the Flow
-After a slow start offensively for both teams, neither side was able to pull ahead by more than four points at any time in the first quarter, and it was the Chargers who held the lead going into the second at 17-15.
-The Trojans took the lead earlier in the second frame, going up 19-17 at the 7:23 mark, but UAH would then go on a 10-0 run as it held TNU scoreless for nearly six minutes while building up a 27-19 advantage. The lead would then grow to nine by the half as Tipton had a layup near the expiration of the period to put UAH ahead 31-22.
-The big run for the Chargers in the third quarter saw the 18 points all come on 3-pointers as UAH strung together six to ahead 51-30 by the 2:47 mark.
-The Trojans could pull no closer than 14 the rest of the way.

Noteworthy
-The hot shooting night is UAH's best since hitting 65.3 percent of its attempts in win over Lane on Nov. 23 of the 2015-16 season.
-Foster matches her career high of 18 points which she set last season at home against West Georgia in a game that also saw her hit five triples.
-The 13 points for Tipton represent a career-best for the sophomore, and it is the first time she has scored in double figures.
-Sanders has now led UAH in assists in three games, and she features a team-best 2.2 assists per game.
