RIVALRY RENEWED: The No. 10 UAH men's basketball team will begin Gulf South Conference play on Sunday as the team makes the quick trip over to Florence to take on rival North Alabama at Flowers Hall with tip-off set for 4 p.m. The Chargers bring a 4-1 record into the contest.

GSC OPENER: After winning the regular season title a year ago for an unprecedented sixth time in seven seasons, the Chargers have once again been picked to win the league according to the preseason poll of coaches. The team won the title last year by posting an 18-4 mark in league action.

LAST TIME OUT: The Chargers rolled to a 77-52 victory over Trevecca Nazarene in a non-conference contest on Tuesday. In that game, UAH had 11 players score, and Seab Webster paced the team with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

RANKINGS UPDATE: In the latest NABC rankings which were released this week, the Chargers remained steady at No. 10 in the country, while in the D2SIDA poll, UAH climbed one position to No. 8.

ROBERTS ROLLING ALONG: In his second season in Huntsville, Brandon Roberts is excelling once again for the Chargers as he ranks second on the team in scoring with 12.8 points per game. He has scored in double figures in four of the team's five games, and he has shot 50 percent or better in three of the team's contests.

LANGLEY'S IMPACT: While his numbers in UAH's season box score might not appear to be too flashy, senior Collin Langley has proven to be one of several key impact players off the bench for UAH this season. He played a strong role in UAH's big run late in the first half against TNU on Tuesday, and in fact, it was his layup that put UAH up for good in the game.

ABOUT NORTH ALABAMA: The Lions enter the conference opener with a 4-1 mark so far in the year, and all five games have been in Florence. UNA opened the year with three straight wins before falling 82-78 to Lane and then rebounding with an 86-74 victory over Miles. Dimario Jackson is one of three players to score in double figures as he's averaging a team-best 18.4 points per game while also dishing out 5.0 assists per contest.

SERIES HISTORY: Sunday's contest will be the 65th meeting between the two programs, and UNA leads the all-time series by a 36-28 margin. Last year the two teams split with the Lions winning an offensive shootout in Florence by a 119-103 score.
