HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's tennis team rolled to a 7-0 victory on Wednesday, travelling across town to blank Division I member Alabama A&M. The Chargers improve to 1-4 on the season with the victory.

UAH will look to build upon the win when the team returns to action on Sunday at 3 p.m. at home against Stillman.

In doubles play, the Chargers earned the point after the No. 1 duo of
Noah Pring and
Elliot Hopson captured a 6-1 victory and the No. 2 pairing of
Rodrigo Palomino and
Harrison Stone won 6-4. At the third position,
Brodie Holmes and
Arthur Menezes won by default.

Moving into singles action, UAH went up 2-0 in the match when
Ian Wisener cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 victory at the fifth position and then took a commanding 3-0 advantage as Hopson captured a 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 1 singles contest.

The match then was clinched by the Blue and White when Menezes rolled to a 6-1, 6-2 win at the fifth position.

For good measure, Holmes won the No. 2 point with a 6-3, 6-4 victory, and Pring made it a clean sweep for the Chargers by winning 6-3, 7-6 (1).

Palomino won the point at the sixth spot by default.
