Men's Tennis Drops Neutral Site Contest to FSC

LIVINGSTON, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's tennis team was back in action on Friday afternoon, falling 7-2 to Florida Southern on neutral courts at West Alabama. UAH slips to 1-5 on the season, while FSC improves to 1-2.

The Chargers fell behind 3-0 in the match as the Mocs won all three points in doubles, though the No. 3 pairing of Harrison Stone and Rodrigo Palomino fought hard in an 8-6 setback.

Stone then proceeded to give UAH the first point in singles action, cutting the FSC lead to 3-1 when he was a 6-3, 6-3 winner at the fifth position, but Florida Southern then won points at the Nos. 6 and 2 singles to seal the match by going up 5-2.

UAH did earn another point when Noah Pring won 6-7, 6-0, 10-7 in the No. 5 singles contest, and Elliott Hopson started out strong at the top position, winning 6-2 in the opening frame before falling 6-3, 6-3.

The Chargers will return to action and step back into conference play when they return to the courts on March 5 in Memphis, taking on Christian Brothers in a 12:30 p.m. match.
