Seab Webster scored his 1,000th career point and The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team won for the fifth straight game, defeating host Lee 78-66 on Thursday night. The Chargers improve to 16-5 (13-3 Gulf South Conference), while Lee slips to 6-15 (4-12 GSC).

Webster scored 15 on the night to lead the Chargers while becoming the 23rd player in program history to breach the 1,000-point mark. The Madison County High School product has totaled 301 points on the season, and he reached the milestone in 81 games as the junior is averaging more than 12 points per game on his career. For good measure, Webster also collected a team-best six rebounds in the victory on Thursday.

Brandon Roberts and
Michael Gilmore both scored 13 to join Webster in double figures as all three hit 3-pointers in the game, and
Tanner Finley nailed four triples in the first half to give UAH four in double digits on the night as he chipped in with 12.

Strong at the point once again,
Greg Gardner dished out eight of UAH's 18 assists on the night.

Levi Woods paced the Flames with 16 points.

The Chargers led wire-to-wire in the contest as a Webster trey opened the scoring, sending the Gurley, Alabama, native on his way to eight points before the game's first media timeout, and with him recording 13 points and Finley 12 in the period, UAH established a 45-24 lead at the halftime break.

The advantage for UAH ballooned to as many as 25 points early in the second half, but the Flames did not back down, narrowing the deficit to just seven twice including at 66-59 with 4:25 left in the game.

UAH scored nine straight at that point, however, to ice the contest.

For the night, UAH outshot Lee by a 42.4 percent to 35.2 percent clip, and the Chargers were impressive from beyond the arc as the visitors knocked down 15 3-pointers.

On the glass, it was the Flames who held the advantage, grabbing 50 rebounds to UAH's 35.

The Chargers will return to action on Saturday when the squad travels to Shorter with the tip slated for 3 p.m. CST. UAH was a 100-97 winner over the Hawks when the teams met in Huntsville on Dec. 17.
