ON THE ROAD: The third-ranked UAH softball team will return to life on the road this weekend, taking its 25-4 (13-2 Gulf South Conference) record to Delta State for a three-game set. The two teams will square off in a doubleheader at 3 p.m. on Saturday and finish the series with a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m.

RECAPPING LAST WEEK: The Chargers put together a strong 4-1 showing last week, sweeping a doubleheader from Tuskegee before taking two of three from West Florida. UAH continued it strong offensive output it has exhibited throughout the year, averaging 7.2 runs per game during the five-game stretch.

AROUND THE GSC: Three teams have separated from the pack – even if just slightly. Delta State leads the league at 14-1 with UAH and North Alabama looming closely behind at 13-2. Beyond that trio, Shorter is alone in fourth with a 9-6 mark, while Valdosta State, West Florida, Mississippi College and West Georgia are all even at 8-7.

FREE PASSES: The Chargers lead the league with 166 walks, and that has given the team an impressive .473 on-base percentage which ranks second among all Division II teams. UAH is chasing both the program record and GSC record in bases on balls which are 234 and 242, respectively.

AMONG THE BEST: In addition to the strong OBP, UAH also ranks in the top 10 in the national stat rankings including ranking fifth in the nation in scoring with 8.17 runs per game. The Chargers are sixth with 2.21 doubles per contest, seventh with a .351 batting average, and feature the eighth-best slugging percentage at .551.

INDIVIDUALLY, TOO: Kaitlyn Bannister ranks second in the nation with her 43 RBI, and her 1.38 runs scored per game is good for fourth in the country. In the circle,
Tyler Harrison is fourth in Division II with her five shutouts and also in victories as she has racked up 15 on the year.

ABOUT DELTA STATE: The Lady Statesmen are having a fantastic campaign, running up a 25-6 (11-1 GSC) record including an 11-2 mark in Cleveland, and the team is receiving votes in the NFCA national poll. Kaitlin Moore leads the DSU offense, posting a .421 batting average on the year while driving in 35 runs, and with a 7-2 record complimenting a 1.87 ERA, Katie Justice is the team's leader in the circle.

SERIES HISTORY: The Chargers lead 39-12 against DSU all-time after taking three contests in Huntsville last year and an additional meeting at the GSC tournament.
