MEN'S BOX SCOREMILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville tennis teams traveled to nationally-ranked Georgia College on Saturday, and the women's team fell to the 21st-ranked team 8-1 while the 10th-ranked men's team defeated UAH 9-0.

The women slip to 6-6 on the year, while the men fall to 2-9.

The ladies will return to action on Sunday when the squad takes on Clayton State at noon, while both teams will battle Augusta on Monday also with a start time of noon.

In the women's match, UAH earned its point when the No. 3 pairing of
Marleen Gort and
Naomi Esteve teamed up for an 8-3 win in doubles.

Gort – recently ranked No. 14 in the South Region – then put up a strong fight at the top spot in singles, falling narrowly 7-5, 6-4, and
Cristina Cabanas also was strong in singles play as she won the first set at the second position 6-3 before falling 6-4, 10-8.

On the men's side, UAH's top showings came from the top doubles pairing and the sixth position in singles play, as it was
Murilo Basso and
Arthur Menezes who snagged four games in an 8-4 setback while
Noah Pring dropped a 6-3, 7-5 decision in singles.
