VALDOSTA, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's tennis team fell on Wednesday, dropping an 8-1 decision to eighth-ranked Valdosta State. The Chargers slip to 2-12 (1-5 Gulf South Conference) with the setback, while VSU improves to 7-3 (3-0 GSC).

Valdosta State won all three doubles points to take an early 3-0 lead in the contest, and the Blazers reeled off five straight points in singles action to go ahead 8-0 before
Noah Pring was able to win 6-4, 7-6 at the sixth position.

Pring had fought tough in recent contests prior to Wednesday when the freshman was rewarded for his efforts with his third victory of the season in singles play, and the win was his first since a triumph on Feb. 26 against Florida Southern.

The Chargers will now be off until April 2 when Shorter visits as the team will play at home for the first time since March 12.
