HOMESTAND CONTINUES: The No. 3 UAH softball team will play five more home games this week, welcoming Tuskegee for a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Tuesday and then hosting West Florida for a weekend conference series. The Chargers – who are 21-3 (11-1 Gulf South Conference) – will play a twinbilling against UWF on Saturday at 2 p.m. followed by a single game at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

RECAPPING LAST WEEK: The Chargers picked up their third conference series sweep of the year, outscoring Christian Brothers 38-10 in the three-game set. Kaitlyn Bannister was particularly impressive, batting .667 while knocking in eight runs on the weekend.

AROUND THE GSC: The top three teams put some distance between themselves and the rest of the league as Delta State (12-0), UAH (11-1), and North Alabama (10-2) continue to hold down the top three spots, while four teams – West Florida, Valdosta State, West Georgia and Shorter – are all tied for fourth at 7-5.

TORRID IN LEAGUE PLAY: The Chargers are leading the conference in GSC-only games by wide margins in several offensive categories, batting .385 in the 12 conference contests while also owning 119 runs, 36 doubles and 16 home runs. Bannister has been stunningly good, hitting .625 against the league while slugging at a 1.125 clip.

MARKED IMPROVEMENT: Abby Roberts has really turned it on at the plate this year as she is one of three Chargers to hit above .400, and she has driven 27 runs on the year to already surpass her season total of 23 from last year. A season ago, Roberts had five multi-RBI games, and she has already record eight this year.

ABOUT TUSKEGEE: The Golden Tigers come to Huntsville with a 2-18 record after picking up their first two wins of the season this weekend against Stillman. Sharde Thomas is batting .421 to pace the team, while Kaylin Finch has knocked in a team-best 13 runs on the season.

ABOUT WEST FLORIDA: The Argos are 19-7 overall and 7-5 in conference play, a league mark that includes a series sweep of Valdosta State. Emily Pettigrew features the team's best batting average at .351, and Kathleen Smiley has driven in a team-high 24 runs. In the circle, Becca Taylor is 9-3, owns a 1.71 ERA, and has 42 strikeouts compared to just nine walks.

SERIES HISTORIES: UAH is 6-1 all-time against Tuskegee, while the Chargers hold a 59-43 edge against the Argos.
