RIVALRY RENEWED: The No. 11 UAH softball team is set for a top-25 showdown this weekend as the Chargers welcome fourth-ranked North Alabama to Charger Park for a three-game set that starts with a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday and concludes with a single game on Sunday at 2 p.m. UAH is 30-7 overall, 16-5 in the GSC, and features a 15-1 mark at home.

PINK GAME: Special pink t-shirts will be sold on Saturday, and fans are encouraged to wear them to the park on Sunday as the Chargers and Lions join together in the fight against breast cancer. WAFF anchor and long-time advocate for women's health Liz Hurley will throw out a ceremonial first pitch, and the teams will also honor Kim Couey – mother of former UAH All-American and current student assistant Macie Couey – who is presently in a battle against the disease. UAH's coaches and staff will wear pink on each Sunday of the season as a constant sign of solidarity with Couey. RECAPPING LAST WEEK: The Chargers went 4-1 last week with doubleheader sweeps of Stillman and Shorter before falling in the series finale to the Hawks, and with the series win over Shorter, UAH has now won six of the seven conference series it has played this season.

AROUND THE GSC: UNA now owns a three-game lead at the top of the standings, sitting at 19-2 ahead of Delta State and UAH who are presently tied for second at 16-5. Valdosta State is in fourth at 12-7-1, while West Florida and Shorter would round out the tournament field if the postseason started today with records of 13-8.

DOUBLE TROUBLE: UAH is presently ranked eighth in Division II with 1.95 doubles per game thanks in part to a strong showing from reigning GSC Player of the Year Kaitlyn Bannister who is 21st in the country on the strength of 15 which also leads the team. Taylor Wascavage and Tyler Harrison are both second on the squad with nine doubles on the season.

STRIKEOUT MACHINE: Tyler Harrison is currently 20th in the nation and second in the conference with 126 strikeouts, and that number is even more impressive considering that in 131.1 innings pitched, the Mobile, Alabama, native has also walked just 18.

ABOUT NORTH ALABAMA: No. 4 UNA is 35-4 overall, 19-2 in the conference, and 15-0 on the road, and the Lions are currently on an impressive 18-game winning streak. The team is led by the impressive bat of Brooklynn Clark who is hitting .469 with 12 doubles and seven homers while driving in 43 runs, and Hillary Carpenter's 17-2 record and 1.62 ERA leads the team in the circle while Raven Cole has struck out a team-best 104 batters.

SERIES HISTORY: The teams will be meeting for the 83rd, 84th, and 85th times this weekend, and UAH leads 62-20 in the all-time series. However, it was UNA that won all four meetings last year – sweeping a three-game set in Florence and also knocking the Chargers off in the GSC tournament.
