BACK IN ACTION: The No. 25 UAH softball team returns home to Charger Park this weekend, hosting a 2 p.m. doubleheader against Mississippi College on Saturday before the two teams wrap up the series with a single game at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The Chargers enter the weekend at 33-12 (17-10 Gulf South Conference).

BLOCK PARTY: Saturday is bound to be a fun day at Charger Park as there will be plenty going on besides the men's lacrosse, baseball, and softball contests. Free inflatables for children will be on the plaza from noon to 5 p.m., and several food trucks will be at Charger Park during the day as well. Additionally, all UAH faculty and staff will be admitted free in appreciation for all that they do for the Chargers.

AROUND THE GSC: With two weeks left in the conference slate, the league continues to be led by North Alabama and its 24-3 record, while Delta State is in second at 21-6. Third place is owned by West Florida (19-8) with Valdosta State (17-8-1) one place ahead of the Chargers who are in fifth. Shorter in sixth at 15-12 would round out the postseason field if play started today, and tournament play will take place at the host site of the No. 1 seed again this year.

SENIOR DAY: The Chargers will recognize this year's senior class on Sunday as Kimberly Jack, Brianna Sullivan, Abby Roberts, and Savannah Smith will play their final regular season home game. The group has been quite successful during its tenure in Huntsville, racking up 164 wins, capturing GSC regular season titles in 2013 and 2014, and earning three NCAA tournament berths including two that culminated in Super Regional appearances.

HOME SWEET HOME: UAH has taken advantage of its home games, featuring an 18-3 record at Charger Park this season. In the Rocket City, the Chargers are batting .375 compared to a .285 mark in road games, and the team has three players batting better than .400 at home with Kailtyn Bannister's impressive .507 mark leading the way.

ABOUT MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE: The Choctaws – who are not yet eligible for postseason play in the GSC – enter the weekend at 28-15 (15-12 GSC), and the squad is a strong 14-9 in road games. Pacing the offensive effort is Kristen Qualls who bats .365 on the year with a team-best 36 RBI, while Carlie Sargent has been strong in the circle with a 14-8 record to go along with 1.84 ERA and 149 strikeouts.

SERIES HISTORY: The all-time series between the two programs is brief and dates back only to last year when the two teams split a doubleheader in the Magnolia State before having the series finale washed out.
