REGULAR SEASON FINALE: The UAH softball team will close out the regular season this weekend when the team travels with its 35-13 (19-11 Gulf South Conference) record to Union for a three-game set. The series will start with a single game on Friday at 5 p.m. and will conclude with a doubleheader that is slated for a 1 p.m. start on Saturday.
 
AROUND THE GSC: The top seed and the field of six for the upcoming GSC tournament have been determined with the remaining seeds to be decided this weekend in the regular season's last hurrah. The championships will start next Thursday at top-seeded North Alabama with the other teams competing including West Florida, Delta State, Valdosta State, Shorter, and UAH.
 
RECAPPING LAST WEEKEND: The Chargers bounced back from an opening-game loss to Mississippi College, winning the second game 4-0 before using a thrilling seventh-inning comeback to win the series with a 6-5 for the program's second straight walk-off on Senior Day. The series win marked the seventh of the year for UAH.
 
HIGH PRAISE: Junior Kaitlyn Bannister landed in an exclusive group on Wednesday when she was selected as one of 25 finalists for the NFCA National Player of the Year as announced by the association. The reigning GSC and South Region Player of the Year has had another tremendous season, and she presently ranks third in the nation in RBI while ranking ninth in runs per game.
 
ABOUT UNION: The Bulldogs enter the weekend at 10-39 overall and 3-27 in GSC play with the squad currently on a nine-game slide. The Bulldogs are led offensively by Haley Barnette who is batting .364 on the year with 28 RBI, while Emily Bennett has an impressive 10 triples on the season.
 
SERIES HISTORY: UAH is 7-1 all-time against Union after taking two of three from the Bulldogs last year in Huntsville including a walk-off win on Senior Day.
