MEN'S BOX SCOREHUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville tennis teams dropped a pair of matches to visiting West Alabama on Monday as the women's team fell 5-4 to move to 8-10 (6-3 Gulf South Conference) with the men's team dropping an 8-1 decision to slip to 2-14 (1-7 GSC).

The men's squad will be back in action on Wednesday at UAB before both teams welcome Mississippi College on Friday in Huntsville.

In the women's contest, UAH's first point came in doubles play as
Naomi Esteve and
Marleen Gort teamed up for an 8-2 win at the second position, but West Alabama captured the other two doubles contests to claim a 2-1 lead.

The teams then split singles 3-3 to give UWA the win.

Cristina Cabanas was a 6-4, 4-6, 6-0 winner for the Chargers at the No. 2 singles, while
Madison Gulick and
Marta Briega also captured points for UAH at the fifth and sixth positions, respectively.

On the men's side, UAH's lone point came at the third position in singles as
Rodrigo Palomino joined up with
Harrison Stone for a tight 9-8 victory.
