HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team saw its four-game winning streak snapped on Sunday as West Georgia was a 2-1 winner at Charger Park. UAH slips to 4-2-0 (1-1-0 Gulf South Conference) with the setback, while UWG improves to 4-2-0 (1-1-0 GSC).

Turning Point
-Susana Abundiz found herself alone in front on a breakaway opportunity in the 80th minute, and West Georgia's top scorer put it into the back of the net for her second goal of the day to give the visitors a 2-1 lead that they would not relinquish.

Inside the Box Score
-Abundiz opened the scoring just over three minutes into the game as she was in front of the UAH net to bury a rebound off a free kick from Tyler Johnson.
-The score remained 1-0 through the halftime intermission despite numerous strong scoring chances for the Chargers, but UAH would finally be rewarded when the team drew a foul in the box to earn a PK that
Maddie Maurice stepped up and buried to knot the contest at 1-1 in the 67th minute.
-After the goal, West Georgia proceeded to hold the Chargers to just one more shot attempt in the final 10 minutes of the contest.

Larae Breaux made six saves in the contest in goal for UAH.
-For the game, UAH held a 14-10 advantage in shots, but West Georgia maintained an 8-5 edge in shots that were on frame.
-The two teams combined to earn just three corners with UAH having two to UWG's one.

Noteworthy
-The goal for Maurice is the Welland, Ontario, native's first of the season, and it represents her fifth career score. It is her first goal since she scored on a PK against Spring Hill on Oct. 18 of last season.
-The penalty in that Oct. 18, 2015, game is also UAH's last penalty kick.

-UAH will now have a couple days to prepare for its next GSC contest which comes on Wednesday when the team travels to North Alabama for a 7 p.m. contest.
