HUNTSVILLE |The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team opened the weekend's slate with a 3-2 (16-25, 25-18, 25-13, 24-26, 15-8) win over Christian Brothers on Friday night at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall. UAH improves to 8-2 (3-1), while CBU slips to 7-3 (3-2 GSC).

Inside the Box Score
- The Chargers had a trio of attackers reach double-digit kills on the night, led by
Anna Claire Johnson with 12 kills.
Rachel Brugman also added 11 kills with a team-best .409 hitting percentage.

Haley Hop paced the Chargers defense with 24 scoops in the match, while
Kerri Whittaker posted 17 digs and
Kirsten Giles recorded 16.
- Coupled with her 38 assists, Giles notched a double-double for the fifth consecutive match.

Caroline Sanford chipped in heavily defensively for UAH with 5.0 total blocks and was one of seven Chargers to own at least 1.0 total block.

Turning Point
- After a back-and-forth opening set, Christian Brothers utilized a seven-point run to notch the 25-16 win in the opening frame.
- With the second set knotted at 16-16, UAH proceeded to amass a 6-0 rally to take a 22-16 lead en route to the 25-18 win to tie the match at 1-1.
- The Chargers were able to continue to roll into the third set, as the squad was able to pull away from CBU early in the frame with 8-2 run to lead 12-6. UAH went on to take the 2-1 lead with the 25-13 win.
- UAH nearly put away CBU in the fourth frame leading 23-20 late, but the Bucs were able to turn the tables with six of the last seven points to win 26-24 and force the fifth set.
- At the midway point of the final frame, UAH held an 8-4 advantage and proceeded to score five of the next six points en route to the match-clinching 15-8 win.

Noteworthy
- Giles has now registered a double-double with assists and digs in eight of the Chargers 10 matches.
- Whittaker notched a career-best 17 digs in the contest, with her previous high of four scoops being recorded on two occasions.
- Brugman's team-high .409 hitting percentage was a season-best for the senior.
- Hop is averaging 24 digs in the past three matches.
- UAH returns to action on Saturday with a visit from Union at 2 p.m.
