HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team fell on Thursday night, dropping a 68-57 decision to visiting Shorter at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall. The Chargers slip to 2-13 (1-9 Gulf South Conference), while Shorter improves to 6-9 (5-5 GSC).

Turning Point
-The visiting Hawks took a six-point advantage at the half and quickly pushed it into double-figures, and once going ahead by 12 at 39-27 with 5:56 left in the third quarter, the Shorter lead did not drop into single digits the rest of the way.

Baylee Johnson paced the Chargers on the night, going 7-for-14 from the floor on her way to scoring 17 points while also picking up a couple rebounds to go along with two steals.
-Johnson was joined in double figures in the game by
Loren Foster who nailed five 3-pointers to tally 15.
-The Chargers were led on the glass by both
Chandler Elder and
Morgan Tipton who both snagged five rebounds.
-Taylor Adams scored 16 to lead the way for the guests.
-For the game, Shorter shot 45.8 percent compared to 42.9 percent for the Chargers, and the Hawks connected on 41.7 percent of their attempts from 3-point land while limiting UAH to a 3-point field goal percentage of 27.3 percent.
-The visitors also won the rebounding battle by a 35-23 margin.

Â-The Chargers scored seven of the game's first eight points to go in front 7-1 at the 6:39 mark of the first quarter, but Shorter would answer with an 8-0 run that saw the guests take their first lead of the game at 9-7 with 3:33 left in the opener.
-The game then would be tied on three occasions before the Hawks carried a 16-13 advantage into the second stanza.
-Shorter led throughout the second quarter, holding as much as a seven-point lead, and the guests led at the halftime break 29-23.
-After the Hawks went ahead by double figures, the team would go ahead by as many as 17 in the third quarter before heading into the fourth with a 49-36 advantage, and the lead would grow to as many as 22 in the fourth quarter.

-The five 3-pointers for Foster matches the season high for the junior as she also hit five treys against Trevecca Nazarene on Dec. 12.
-Johnson's season scoring average increases to a season-best 11.7 points per game, and she has now led the team in scoring in three contests on the year.
