HUNTSVILLE | The 25th-ranked University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team earned another big Gulf South Conference victory, using a strong start to the second half to secure an 81-69 victory over Christian Brothers on Monday afternoon at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall. The Chargers improve to 10-3 (6-1 GSC), while CBU slips to 8-6 (5-3 GSC).

Turning Point
-UAH opened the second half on fire, outscoring Christian Brothers 21-4 over a span of nearly five minutes, and
Seab Webster scored 13 points during the stretch to help the hosts build up a 24-point lead. The Chargers were also strong defensively during the stretch, limiting CBU to just four free throws and no field goals.

Inside the Box Score
-Webster continued his torrid ways as the senior ended the contest with 20 points – after having just three in the first half – and 13 rebounds to notch another double-double, and the Gurley, Alabama, native also added a pair of assists and two steals.

Chayse Elliott was a perfect 5-for-5 in the first half, coming off the bench to score 11 in the period, and he finished the day with 18 after hitting eight straight shots including a pair of 3-pointers.
-Also in double figures for the Chargers was
Brandon Roberts who was 6-for-12 with 16 points to go along with six boards, and
Kip Owens gave UAH four in double digits as he chipped in with 11.

Michael Gilmore dished out five assists and
Troy Saxton added four as UAH tallied 18 helpers in the game.
-CBU was led in the contest by Brad Miller who hit five 3-pointers and scored 17.
-The Chargers outshot Christian Brothers by a 51.8 percent to 34.3 percent clip, and the home team also won the battle on the glass by a 40-38 margin.
-UAH dominated CBU inside, owning a 40-18 margin in points in the paint, and with Elliott's strong showing, the Chargers reserved outscored the visitors' by a 27-23 margin.

Inside the Flow
-Owens hit back-to-back triples to help UAH score the first eight points of the game, and the hosts held CBU scoreless until the 15:27 mark of the opening half.
-The teams then exchanged significant runs with CBU going on a 9-2 spurt to cut the lead to one before the Chargers answered with an 8-0 run to push out to an 18-9 advantage by the midway point of the half.
-The Bucs would be able to close the gap to just two on a pair of occasions, but over the final six minutes of the stanza, Elliott scored six points in a 14-9 stretch to make it a 35-28 game at the break.
-After Webster helped the Chargers to the scorching second half start, the visitors went 11-for-15 from the floor over 10 minutes to outscore UAH 29-13 and cut a 24-point lead to single digits at 69-61 with 5:39 left in the game.
-CBU then would only hit three more field goals, and UAH was a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe in the closing minutes to seal the victory.

Noteworthy
-The 18-point showing for Elliott marks a new season and career-best for the junior, surpassing his previous high of 11 which he established against North Alabama on Dec. 4 and against at Valdosta State on Jan. 2.
-Webster now has scored at least 20 points in five of the team's last six games, and he now owns seven double-doubles on the season.
-The 34.3 percent shooting mark by Christian Brothers is the second-lowest by a Charger opponent this year, and it is the lowest mark by a GSC team.
-The win is UAH's fifth consecutive victory which is the highest string of wins for the team this year, and the best mark since winning nine in a row from Jan. 21 to Feb. 18 of last season.

-UAH will now return to the road as it travels to the Magnolia State for a pair which starts with a Thursday visit at Mississippi College. Tip-off in Clinton is slated for 7:30 p.m.
