BACK HOME: The UAH men's soccer team returns home for another pair of critical Gulf South Conference matches, welcoming Christian Brothers for a Friday Night Football contest at 7:30 p.m. and then hosting Union at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. The Chargers enter the weekend at 5-4-2 (4-0-2 GSC).

LAST TIME OUT: UAH put together another four-point road weekend, tying Mississippi College 1-1 before blowing past Delta State 4-0. Khalil Bell was named the GSC Player of the Week after scoring twice and adding an assist, while Myles Fullen earned GSC Defender of the Week after making eight saves in the two games.

AROUND THE GSC: The top of the standings are packed tightly with two points separating the top four teams. Christian Brothers at 5-1-1 and 16 points is tied with Mississippi College who is 5-2-1 and 16 points, while West Alabama's 5-1-0 record has them in third with 15 points which is just one point ahead of UAH's 14 points. Lee is in fifth with a 3-3-1 record and 10 points.

MAKING THEM COUNT: UAH may rank sixth in the league in shots taken in conference play, but the Chargers have been opportunistic with their attempts and lead the GSC in goals per game in conference games with 2.7 per contest. Additionally, thanks to a stingy defense that is allowing just 0.7 goals per game against league opponents, the Chargers are tied with CBU for the best scoring margin, holding a 2.0 goals advantage over their opposition.

BALANCED EFFORT: The Chargers have had 10 different players score goals on the year, and half of those players have scored at least twice with Khalil Bell and Correntin Diverres notching three goals on the season and Jordan Wright owning a team-best five scores.

ABOUT THE BUCS: Christian Brothers visits Huntsville at 6-4-1 overall and 5-1-1 in GSC play, and the team has given up just three goals in its last seven games. Brendan Bennett leads the CBU attack, scoring seven times and adding two assists for a total of 16 points on the year.

SERIES HISTORY: UAH is 16-15-3 all-time against CBU after falling 2-1 in double overtime last year in Memphis, but the Chargers were 3-2 winners when the two programs last met in Huntsville back in 2015.

ABOUT THE BULLDOGS: Union is 3-7-0 (3-4-0 GSC) ahead of its Friday night contest at West Alabama, and the team has won three of its last four games including a strong 3-0 road win at then-No. 16 Mississippi College. William Valencia paces the Bulldogs offensively with nine points from four goals and one helper.

SERIES HISTORY: UAH is 4-4-0 all-time against Union after dropping a 3-2 decision in Jackson a season ago. In 2015 when the teams met most recently in the Rocket City, Daniel Buchanan scored in the 53rd for the lone goal in a 1-0 victory for the Chargers.
