UAH Slips Friday at West Alabama

LIVINGSTON, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team fell 3-0 (22-25, 17-25, 25-27) at West Alabama on Friday evening in a Gulf South Conference matchup. UAH dips to 19-10 (7-4 GSC), while UWA rises to 16-10 (8-2 GSC).
 
Turning Point
- After West Alabama edged UAH 25-22 to take an early lead in the first set, the Tigers continued to roll with a 25-17 win in the second en route to the three-set victory over the Chargers.
 
Inside the Box Score
- Kirsten Giles registered a strong all-around performance as she notched team-highs with both 18 assists and 14 digs for a double-double in addition to two service aces and two kills.
- Isabelle Barnes and Anna Claire Johnson tied for the team lead in kills with six apiece.
- Barnes, Johnson and Caroline Sanford led the defense with three total blocks each. Johnson additionally notched seven digs to rate fourth on the roster Friday.
- Both Haley Hop and Anna LeDuc joined Giles in double-digit digs with 12 and 10 scoops, respectively.
- Sabrina Duncan finished second on the roster with 11 assists, while also totaling four digs.
- Sanford posted a team-best .231 hitting percentage amongst attackers with 10 or more attempts.

- Johnson is now the program leader in the 25-point rally era with 1063 career kills.
- Giles has totaled 12 double-doubles this season and is currently on a four-match streak of 10 or more assists and digs.
