UAH Records 20th Win in 3-0 Drubbing of Mississippi College

CLINTON, Miss. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 win (25-14, 25-14, 25-20) over Mississippi College on Saturday afternoon in a Gulf South Conference matchup. UAH improves to 20-10 (8-4 GSC), while MC dips to 10-18 (2-10 GSC).
 
Turning Point
- The Chargers dominated throughout the contest on offense and, in particular, the first and second set with a pair of 25-14 wins to take an early 2-0 lead on the way to the three-set victory over the Choctaws.
 
Inside the Box Score
- The Chargers hit above .300 in each of the three sets against MC, including a match-best .500 hitting percentage in the second frame on 13 team kills.
- Anna Claire Johnson led the offense with eight kills, followed by Isabelle Barnes and Anna LeDuc with six successful swats apiece.
- Johnson also owned a team-best three total blocks.
- Kirsten Giles turned in another stellar all-around performance with five kills on a team-best .833 hitting percentage in addition to pacing the team with 18 assists.
- Sabrina Duncan joined Giles in double-digits with 14 helpers in the win.
- Haley Hop totaled a team-best 15 digs, followed by LeDuc with seven scoops.
- Eight Chargers had two digs or more while eight players on the roster had multi-kill performances.
 
Noteworthy
- The Chargers notched 20 wins in a season for the first time since 2005 when the squad turned in a 24-13 overall record.
- UAH's .368 hitting percentage in the match is the highest this season against a GSC opponent.

- UAH returns to the road next weekend with trips to Union on Friday and Christian Brothers on Saturday to wrap up the 2017 regular season road slate.
