UAH Ends Slide with 3-1 Road Win at SHC

MOBILE, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team snapped a five-game skid on Friday afternoon, defeating host Spring Hill 3-1 to pick up a GSC win. The Chargers improve to 4-7-0 (3-6-0 GSC), while the Badgers drop to 1-10-0 (0-7-0 GSC).

Turning Points
-Arieal Alexander opened the scoring early as she tallied just under nine minutes into the game, making her long-distance shot count as it beat the keeper to put UAH up 1-0.
-The score remained that way through the remainder of the opening half, but Spring Hill leveled the contest just over a minute into the second period when Gabrielle Burmaster scored.
-It did not take long for the Chargers to find an answer, however, as Riley Ridgeway continued her torrid ways, heading it in from Hannah Oglesby and Sydney Pfankuch in the 51st minute to put UAH back ahead.
-Brynn Colvin then iced the contest as she scored in the 79th, and Pfankuch picked up her second assist of the night on the goal.

-Spring Hill finished the contest with a 20-13 edge in shot attempts, but the Chargers had the advantage in shots that were on goal by an 8-6 margin.
-UAH also held the edge in corner kicks in the game by a 5-4 mark.
-Ridgeway paced the team in shots on the afternoon as she recorded four including a team-high three that were on target.
-Megan Buford picked up the win in goal for UAH and recorded five saves in the process.
