HUNTSVILLE | Winning its third straight, The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team outlasted a hot-shooting Tennessee Wesleyan team on Monday night, winning 88-77 at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall. The Chargers improve to 4-1 with the win, while TWU slips to 3-7.

Turning Point
-With UAH's lead down to just one at 61-60 with just under nine minutes remaining in the game, the Chargers ripped off a 12-3 run over the next 3:08 with five different players scoring to put the team up 73-63.

Inside the Box Score
-Justin Ward knocked down 10 field goal on his way to leading the Chargers with 25 points while also logging three rebounds, a steal, a block, and an assist.
-Hitting four 3-pointers to score 14 was Tanner Finley, while Malik Cook-Stroupe notched a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
-Cook-Stroupe for good measure also matched Kip Owens with a team-high five assists, and the sophomore collected a pair of steals.
-Also having a strong night on the glass was JJ Kaplan who snagged eight rebounds in 10 minutes including three on the offensive end.
-Aundre Reid hit seven of TWU's 18 3-pointers to lead the Bulldogs with 21 points.
-For the game, UAH shot 46.3 percent with the Bulldogs connecting on 41.5 percent of their attempts, and the Chargers won the rebounding battle by a 43-33 margin.
-UAH had seven different players hit a trey to total 14 on the night.

-UAH never trailed in the contest, taking the lead when Cook-Stroupe scored nearly three minutes into the contest, and a pair of 6-0 runs in the opening half put the Chargers ahead by double digits for the first time at 27-16 with 6:22 remaining in the opening half.
-The lead would grow to as many as 12 for UAH before the teams went into the locker room with the Chargers up 41-32.
-The Bulldogs narrowed the gap to just three at 49-46 with 15:50 left in the game, and after UAH pushed the lead back out to nine, TWU would go on a 14-6 run to pull the game within one at 61-60 at the 8:58 mark.
-UAH then outscored the guests 27-17 in the final minutes, not allowing Tennessee Wesleyan to pull any closer than six the rest of the way.

-Ward's 20-point streak now sits at four games, and he establishes a season high in field goals with the 10 he made Monday night.
-The double-double for Cook-Stroupe is the first of his career, and the 10-rebound performance far surpasses his previous career-best rebounding mark of five which he has set twice this season.
-UAH set a season high in assists on the night as the team dished out 23 on the 31 made buckets, and six different Chargers had multiple helpers.
