CLEVELAND, Tenn. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team began Gulf South Conference play with a pair of losses by scores of 5-2 and 3-1 in the series-opening doubleheader at Lee on Saturday afternoon. UAH slips to 2-7 (0-2 GSC), while LU improves to 8-1 (2-0 GSC).

Jay Copeland went 1-for-3 at the plate for the Chargers with a team-high two runs scored and one walk.

- Lee started the scoring in the series opener with a trio of runs in the bottom of the second to lead 3-0.
