HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team opened the three-game Gulf South Conference series against Shorter with two wins in the series-opening doubleheader by scores of 10-8 and 5-4 on Friday afternoon at Charger Park. UAH improves to 13-15 (8-9 GSC), while SU slips to 16-12 (6-11 GSC).

Game-Changer
- With the game tied 2-2 after three full innings, UAH pulled ahead with a five-run rally in the bottom fourth as the hosts took the series opener by a 10-8 final on Friday.

Justin Ware scored in the bottom of the first on a ground out to give UAH a 1-0 advantage.

Game-Changer
- After Shorter tied the game at 4-4 with one run in the top of the sixth, UAH went home a walk-off winner as Walden smacked a solo home run to left in the bottom of the seventh to give the Chargers their third straight win and the doubleheader sweep on the 5-4 victory.

- Shorter took the early lead in game two on Friday with a pair of runs in the top of the first, but UAH turned the tables with a three-run rally in the bottom of the second as Copeland,
Ben Rhodes and Walden drove in runs during the inning.
- The Chargers added another run in the third as
Lance Cleveland scored on a ground out to make it 4-2 UAH.
