HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team swept the nonconference doubleheader over Miles on Tuesday afternoon at Charger Park by scores of 8-3 and 9-5 to open the week's slate. UAH improves to 18-20, while MC dips to 17-17.

Game-Changer
- UAH utilized a five-run bottom of the second – highlighted by a three-run home run by
Wes Anderson – on the way to an 8-3 victory to open the doubleheader at Charger Park.

- After Anderson's three-run blast, the Chargers chipped in two more runs in the inning on a RBI double by
Justin Ware followed by a RBI single to centerfield by
Tanner Burns.
- A solo home run in the top of the fourth by MC's Kolby Brannon slimmed the UAH lead to 5-1, but the Chargers responded with two runs in the fourth as
Wright Hackett scored on an error before Burns drove in Ware on a sac fly.
- UAH added one more run in the fifth to lead 8-1, and the game would be brought to its 8-3 final with one run apiece in the sixth and seventh innings by the Golden Bears.

- With the game knotted at 5-5 in the eighth inning,
Ben Rhodes sent UAH home a walk-off winner with a grand slam to give the Chargers the 9-5 victory.

- After a scoreless first inning by both sides, Miles pulled ahead with two runs in the second to take the first lead prior to extending its lead to 4-0 with two more runs in the top of the third.
- UAH dug into the deficit at 4-2 with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the third, as
Seth Richardson scored on an error before Burns drove in Ware on a groundout.
- The Chargers received a stellar outing of relief from
Ethan Thomas out of the bullpen, posting 3.1 shutout frames with one strikeout and zero walks which allowed UAH to get back into the contest.
