UAH Tripped Up in Road Finale at Young Harris

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's lacrosse team dropped its last road game of 2017, falling 20-6 at Young Harris on Saturday. The Chargers slip to 5-7 on the season, while YHC improves to 7-8.
 
Turning Point
-With the Chargers trailing by just one at 5-4 at the 7:30 mark of the second quarter, the Mountain Lions would score the next 11 goals to go up 16-4 with 10:54 left in the fourth quarter to take control of the contest.
 
Inside the Box Score
-Adam Zois led the Chargers with a pair of goals in the contest, with the other scores coming from Jack Utrevis, Kevin Coppinger, Luke LeVette, and Daniel Wilson, Jr.
-LeVette paced the team with nine shots.
-Leading the team with eight ground balls while also winning 12 faceoffs was Jake Fowler.
-Young Harris held a 42-41 edge in overall shots while leading 32-18 in shots on goal as Michl McNeil made 12 saves in the cage for UAH.
-Young Harris was 10-for-10 in clears with UAH posting a 4-for-5 performance, and the hosts held a 33-27 advantage in ground balls.
 
Inside the Flow
-After Utrevis scored the game's first goal at the 12:35 mark of the first quarter, the Mountain Lions scored the next four goals before Zois added another goal for UAH with 2:31 left in the period to make it a 4-2 game going into the second.
-YHC would regain a three-goal advantage by tallying the second's opening score, but Coppinger and Zois would score back-to-back goals to make it 5-4 before Young Harris went on the big run.
-Wilson, Jr., got the Chargers back on the board with his score at the 9:52 mark of the fourth quarter, and LeVette picked up UAH's final goal with 3:09 left in the contest.
 
Noteworthy
-LeVette now has 40 points on the year as he scored his 24th goal of the season, and Coppinger reaches the 20-goal mark by scoring in his eighth straight game.
-The multi-goal performance for Zois is the third of the season for him.
-Fowler pushes his team-best total in ground balls to 48.
 
Next Time Out
-The Chargers will close out the 2017 campaign with their home finale on Saturday at Charger Park with the contest against Shorter slated for a 7 p.m. start. McNeil will be honored prior to the game as the program's first graduating senior.
