HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team earned the doubleheader split on the back of
Will Myers' no-hitter – the third in program history – in the 3-0 win over Valdosta State in game two after falling in the series opener 9-1 on Saturday at Charger Park. UAH moves to 16-19 (11-12 GSC), while VSU sits at 23-14 (12-11 GSC).

Game-Changer
- After Valdosta State took an early 2-0 lead with two runs in the top of the first, VSU starting pitcher Austin Hamilton cruised to the 9-1 win with a dominant 8.0 inning performance with one run allowed and 10 strikeouts.

- Following the first, the Blazers continued to add to their lead with one run apiece in the third and fourth to own a 4-0 advantage before pushing across two more in the fifth to lead 6-0.
- Valdosta State pushed across another run in the top of the sixth, before junior
Ben Rhodes put UAH on the board with a solo home run to cut the deficit to 7-1.
- The Blazers went on to add two more insurance runs in the top of the ninth on the way to the 9-1 victory in the series opener.
- The Chargers posted six base hits in the loss, paced by Rhodes with a team-high two hits in addition to one run and one RBI.

Heath McRae made the start on the mound for UAH, turning in 3.0 innings with four runs allowed and three strikeouts to slip his season record to 3-1.

- Rhodes now has a career-high five home runs this season, after belting four home runs in his sophomore season in 2016.

Game-Changer
- A native of Philadelphia, Mississippi, Myers was the difference in the game-two, 3-0 victory as the southpaw stymied the Valdosta State offense over 7.0 no-hit innings with six strikeouts on Saturday evening.

Nolan Ramsey in the bottom of the third for a 1-0 lead.

Noteworthy
- Myers no-hitter is the third in program history, as Matt Jansen (April 29, 2000) and Erasmo Moreno (Feb. 29, 1996) achieved the feat before the lefty.
- This was Myers first shutout performance of the season and the third of his career.
- Myers has allowed one hit or less in a game on three occasions, tossing two, one-hitters in 2016.
- The southpaws no-hitter marks the second weekend in a row a GSC starting pitcher has recorded a no-hitter as Brandon Ingram of Mississippi College no-hit VSU on April 2.
- UAH matched a season-high with three stolen bases, which has been reached three times this year.
