CARROLLTON, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team fell on the road on Monday afternoon, dropping a 76-63 decision at West Georgia. The Chargers fall to 10-7 (4-6 Gulf South Conference), while UWG improves to 10-6 (6-3 GSC).
 
Turning Point
-West Georgia outscored UAH 22-15 in the third quarter, turning a one-point halftime lead into as much as a 10-point lead in the quarter to take control of the contest.
 
Inside the Box Score

Katie Speegle turned in an impressive shooting performance as she went 7-for-8 from the floor and 6-for-7 from the free throw line on her way to scoring 20 points as one of three Chargers to log double figures.
-Scoring 18 and grabbing nine rebounds to just narrowly miss out on a double-double was 
Chandler Elder, while 
Morgan Tipton chipped in with 12.

Emme Willoughby tied for the team lead in assists as both dished out three.
-Leading the way for West Georgia was Kayle Carter who scored 18, while A'Kia Harris had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
-For the contest, UAH shot 43.6 percent compared to UWG's 44.3 percent mark from the floor, and the Wolves won the rebounding battle by a 39-29 margin.
 
Inside the Flow
-The contest went back-and-forth through much of the early action with the largest lead in the first quarter being just four which West Georgia enjoyed twice before heading into the second with a 15-14 lead.
-UWG found itself in front by three at 19-16 just over a minute into the second period, but the Chargers would then rip off a 13-4 run over the next 6:32 to build up a 29-23 advantage with 2:25 left in the half.
-The Wolves closed the stanza on an 8-1 run to take a 31-30 lead into the break, and though UAH would briefly regain the advantage just into the third quarter, a strong push from the hosts allowed West Georgia to go up by as much 10 on its way to holding a 53-45 lead at the end of the frame.
-The lead for the Wolves expanded to as many as 12 in the first minute of the fourth, and though UAH would use a 6-0 run over the next minute to pull within six at 57-51 with 8:01 left in the game, the Chargers could pull no closer the rest of the way.
 
Noteworthy
-This marks the third time this season that Speegle has scored 20 points in a contest, and the seven trips to the free throw line represent the second-highest total earned by the sophomore this year.
-Elder has scored in double figures in three of the past four games, and she is now averaging 12.4 points per contest.

-UAH will welcome rival North Alabama to Kelly Court at Spragins Hall on Saturday for likely the last time as UNA moves to Division I next year. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m., and the contest will be a Bryant Bank Basketball Blackout with all fans in the lower level of Spragins Hall receiving a free black t-shirt presented by Bryant Bank.
