CLEVELAND, Miss. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team fell on the road on Tuesday night, dropping a 67-60 decision at Delta State. The Chargers slip to 8-4 (2-3 Gulf South Conference), while the Lady Statesmen improve to 5-6 (3-2 GSC).

Turning Point
-After the Chargers ripped off a big run to start the fourth quarter while reclaiming the advantage in the process at 53-51 with 6:08 left in the game, Delta State outscored UAH 16-7 the rest of the way to claim the victory.

Inside the Box Score
-The Chargers featured two players who scored in double figures with
Chandler Elder's 12 points leading the way, while
Aryn Sanders chipped in with 10 including a 6-for-6 showing at the charity stripe.
-Elder also led the guests in rebounding as she grabbed six on the night.
-Delta State was paced offensively by Alondrea Rush who scored 25.
-For the game, Delta State connected on 44.0 percent of its attempts while holding UAH to a shooting mark of 32.0 percent.

-The Chargers would grab the game's first lead on a
Loren Foster 3-pointer, and UAH would lead 5-4 after a pair of Sanders free throws at the 6:17 mark of the opening quarter before the hosts scored seven straight to push out to an 11-5 lead with 2:31 remaining in the period.
-UAH narrowed the gap to 13-10 by the end of the period, but the Lady Statesmen would reclaim the six-point advantage in the second quarter and led 24-19 with 3:26 remaining until the half.
-The Chargers then closed the quarter on a 6-2 run to go into the locker room trailing by just a point at 26-25.
-Delta State would go in front by as many as seven in the early action in the third quarter, and though the Chargers would narrow the gap back down to three at 37-34 at the 5:46 mark, DSU would expand the advantage to 14 on its way to enjoying a 49-37 cushion at the end of the third.
-The guests, however, showed strong resolve in ripping off a 17-2 run that featured at one point 11 straight points and nearly three minutes without a Delta State bucket, and a pair of Sanders free throws at the 6:08 mark put the Chargers up by the aforementioned 53-51 score before the hosts battled back to claim the win.

-Elder has now scored in double figures in eight of the team's 12 games, and she continues to lead the team in scoring as she averages 12.7 points per contest.
-The six rebounds for Elder mark her third straight game with at least that many, and the senior leads UAH on the glass with 7.7 rebounds per game.
-UAH's 60 points surpasses the season average that Delta State is allowing as the Lady Statesmen give up just 54.1 points per game.
