HUNTSVILLE | Remaining perfect at home this season, The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team rolled to a 71-51 victory over No. 5 Christian Brothers on Saturday afternoon at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall. The Chargers improve to 10-5 (3-4 Gulf South Conference) with the triumph, while CBU slips to 12-2 (4-2 GSC).

Turning Point
-An 11-0 run for UAH over a 5:20 span early in the first half gave the hosts a 16-4 advantage by the 11:56 mark, and the Charger cushion would remain in double figures throughout much of the remainder of the contest.

Inside the Box Score

Kip Owens scored a team-best 17 points for UAH while going 7-for-11 from the floor, and the Memphis native also grabbed seven rebounds while dishing out six assists and collecting three blocks.

Chayse Elliott also stuffed the stat sheet as he scored 14 on a 5-for-7 shooting performance to go along with a team-high nine rebounds, six assists, a block, and a steal.

Tanner Finley also turned in a solid performance as he scored nine and snagged eight boards.
-Leading CBU offensively was Jeff Larkin who was held to just 14 points which is well below his season scoring average of 20.6 points per game.
-Additionally, UAH's defensive effort held Adam Dieball to just eight, and he had entered the game scoring 17.2 points per outing.
-For the game, UAH shot 47.4 percent while holding CBU to a 29.9 percent performance including going just 2-for-25 from 3-point land, and the Chargers also won the rebounding battle by a 41-40 margin.
-UAH committed just seven turnovers while also picking up 18 assists.

-After jumping out to the 14-6 lead, the Chargers then saw CBU go on a 10-4 run over the next 2:30 to close the gap to six at 20-14 with 9:26 left until the half, but the Chargers outscored the guests 18-9 the rest of the period with a Finley triple just before the break putting UAH up 38-23 going into the second.
-A 12-4 spurt in which UAH went 3-for-4 from beyond the arc over a span of 4:14 early in the second half allowed the Chargers to push out to a 21-point lead at 50-29, and after the Bucs narrowed the margin to 15 with 11:19 left, the hosts would score nine straight while not allowing the opposition to score for five minutes to take the largest lead of the night at 63-39.
-The UAH advantage then would not drop below 20 the rest of the way as the Chargers sealed the 71-51 victory.

-UAH is now 7-0 at home this season and has won eight straight regular season games at Spragins Hall.
-The six assists for Elliott is a career-best, surpassing the five he recorded against Lee earlier this season, and his nine rebounds are also a personal-high as he eclipses the eight he logged against Union last year.
-Owens now has a team-high 53 assists on the season compared to just 28 turnovers, and his season block total moves to 17.
